Louise Bessette has been interested in the field of photography since receiving her first camera at 16. She graduated from Paier College of Art in Hamden, CT with a degree in photojournalism. During school, Louise studied various photographers’ styles. She was particularly drawn to the 30’s through 50’s era when black & white documentary portraiture was instrumental in bringing about awareness of social conditions. To this day, Louise is unwavering in her belief that her interpretation and vision in her work is to capture her moments in time without manipulation of her subjects. Seeing that glimpse of time and spontaneously taking the picture creates at that moment a unique record of time that no one needs to alter. It’s this truest and best recording of time she endeavors to capture for herself and her clients. Louise his won numerous awards, art shows and completions throughout the years. She has displayed her work in galleries in VT, CT and GA. Recently, Louise has studied at the International School of Photography in NY with studio photographer, Bobbi Lane and master environmental portraitist, Shelby Lee Adams. |
